Built in 1964 by Severn Trent, this 210 acre reservoir has several places around it where you can park, walk and enjoy the views.
The visitor centre is at the north end of the reservoir with the tower windmill and wildflower meadow nearby. Water activities include sailing and coarse fishing.
At the south end of the reservoir are Calke Abbey and Park, Dimminsdale Nature Reserve, The Ferrers Centre and Staunton Harold Nurseries.
