Branston and Tatenhill

The Burton area contains a number of significant areas of greenland, some recent, some not so recent. Branston Water Park is an old gravel pit which has been developed into a very pleasant place for recreation. Running alongside the Trent and Mersey Canal, it has a large parking area, toilets, a children's play area and the Bridge Inn is just along the canal. There is a large amount of bird life including ducks, geese and swans. Main access is from the A38 northbound.
